Meet Cody, my 6 day old nephew delivered by myself on Tuesday morning by huge surprise. It's been a horrendously busy, hectic, stressful week to say the least but I will never forget Tuesday 28th July!!My other sister called me at 7.50am and asked if I would come down as Kelly was in labour and she had to go and get ready for work. I arrived at Kelly and Matthew's house by 8.30am. Kelly was coping really well with contractions, i got her up to go to the loo and she said she felt the urge to push! I told her that was quite normal and she asked for me to help her back to the loo. Hubby called me at 9.20am to ask how things were and I said fine and that I would call him back in 5 mins as Kelly wanted to go into hospitals NOW! (We were waiting for Matthews mum to arrive as she was driving them in). Just as I put the phone down I told Matthew to call for an ambulance. Kelly looked at me and said I feel something down there!! I told her I needed to look, I then looked at her and said baby is coming now and that she needed to push on her next contraction. With that she gave one push and out popped his head, his wee face began to look blue, so I tried to stimulate him where he then turned round and slowly moved his head. I yelled at Matthew "where's the fooking ambulance", Kelly saw me panic for a split second so I had to calm myself and said "everything is fine but you need to push on the next contraction. She gave another push, and baby Cody was born at 9.30am. I unravelled the cord, gave him a clean till he cried and placed him on Kelly's tummy and waited a further 10-15 mins for the ambulance to arrive. The best present an auntie could ever wish for!I then did her dishes and went to the hairdresser for my hair appointment an hour later than I should have been!
BTW......isn't this stuff only supposed to happen in magazines?
OMG, what a strange day yesterday was to say the least. A quick update before I dash out the door to get things organised for them all.Yesterday morning I delivered my little sisters baby much to my surprise. It was the most wonderful thing in the whole world and something I will never forget for the rest of my life.Cody Campbell Stewart was born on 28th June 2009 at 9.30am weighing 7lbs 14oz. He's gorgeous. Will follow up the story in more detail with pictures but just wanted to tell the world he'd arrived.
Thought I would share this lovely little texture with you. If you click on the title "Freebies" above you should be able to download the large size. It's very pretty. It would be nice if you could credit me and show me what you've done with it.

I promised I would post some more images of the gorgeous Molly and here she is! Sound asleep. I'm loving these newborn shots and sooooooo desperate to do some more. I need to get out and shooting more but it's very difficult with the school holidays etc.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Mine was rather hectic to say the least ;-)

OMG.......what is there not to love about newborns? This is Molly a gorgeous 3 week old baby girl who I had the pleasure of photographing on Tuesday. I couldn't resist sharing this one as she looks absolutely adorable. Little Molly however was rather curious and wanted to see what was going on so there was lots of waiting till mum got her sleeping before we could place her where we wanted, but oh no..........up she got again ;-). When you photograph babies you can't rush it, you have to take your time and go with the flow otherwise you don't get the shots you want. I was lucky enough to hang around for a good while, enjoying cups of tea and getting lots of little cuddles from baby Molly. More to come from this shoot soon........ My little sisters baby was due last Sat and I'm waiting patiently to kidnap him/her for some serious newborn photos. She knows the sex of the baby and I think I'm about the only one who doesn't as I chose not to know. My guess it's a boy though!! We helped her move house last night (mad girl). Hopefully this will get her going though....so watch out for lots and lots of newborns flooding my site ;-)
Fresh and clean out the bath I ask her to pose for me in one of my hand made Tutu's and this is the pose she presents me with! She was away all day today on a Pony Day where she has to learn all about the horse, muck it out blah blah blah. She had a whale of a time but at bed time she did confess that she got shouted at for hurting one of the other girls fingers! "I didn't cry when I got a row though mum" she said ha ha!!!! This was taken with my new super duper Lensbaby Composer which I love, just takes a bit of getting used to and couldn't resist posting this little pic of my darling daughter.
She is also wearing one of my handmade Tutu's which will be available soon.
